Love hurts

Illustrations on beer coasters, signed (2012-19). Price on request.

Reinterpretation of illustrations based on memories of a journey to Mexico during the “Day of the dead” festive days in the forms of beer coasters. “Love hurts” is the title of a pop song von Boudleaux Bryant which was multiple times interpreted by musicians such as Roy Orbison or Nazareth. The choice of beer coasters as a support material is due to remark the festive character of the traditional Day of the Dead in Mexico. The confrontation of concepts such as death and life, melancholy and happiness, tradition, and new interpretation are some aspects explored in this work.
